The Fish Fairy Festival and Water-Sprinkling Festival are two internationally acclaimed events of Menglian County in Pu’er. A large number of Chinese and foreign tourists are drawn by these two festivals each April.
The number of tourists and the amount of revenue raised from the 16th Fish Fairy Festival and the Water-Sprinkling Festival witnessed a sharp increase this year. As many as 154,700 tourists visited the county, an increase of 20.11% year-on-year. Meanwhile, tourism revenue reached RMB 79.0316 million, posting an increase of 31.21% year-on-year.
