XI'AN, May 7 (Xinhua) -- A total of 23 counties in northwest China's Shaanxi Province have shaken off poverty, the provincial government announced Tuesday.
The 23 counties, including Yanchuan and Yichuan in the city of Yan'an, a former revolutionary base of the Communist Party of China, have passed strict reviews conducted by poverty relief offices at various levels and have reached the national anti-poverty standards.
All the counties were urged to continue helping low-income groups improve their living standards and consolidate achievements in the anti-poverty campaign.
