Local government in Liuzhou city, Guangxi province, is helping to keep the city’s pollution down by incentivizing the use of clean energy cars.
The city of Liuzhou boasts a beautiful mix of urban living and natural scenery. To keep the balance, local automobile manufacturers such as SAIC GM Wuling Automotive Limited (SGMW) and Dongfeng Liuzhou Automotive Co., Ltd. have now created fully electric cars to keep up with demand.

SGMW’s latest model, the E100, rolled off the production line in 2017 and has already proved popular around the city. Lei Ling, deputy director of the Liuzhou municipal Party office’s publicity department, said, “The government of Liuzhou offers preferential policies for users of the E100. First, they can enjoy free parking. Second, they can charge their vehicle free of charge. Additionally they get benefits when driving these cars.”

These benefits include access to bridges and bus lanes otherwise limited during certain time periods for other car users. SGMW hopes that the car will become available nationwide this year, helping with the government’s fight against pollution.
