To help Chinese carps reproduce, Danjiangkou Reservoir opened the gate for the first time at 8 o’clock on June 13. The man-made flood peaks will provide greater opportunities for the carps to spawn. It’s known that the time from April to July is the common season for the famous “Four Chinese Carps”, black carp, grass carp, silver carp, and bighead carp to spawn.
