On June 26, Yue Qude, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of Qingdao University of Technology, led a group of experts to do field testing on the conservation of the “Green Screen Wall” after this national treasure had been uplifted. After the field-testing, they prepared to implement further protection.

Located on the southeast corner of Xiangyang City, Hubei, the Green Screen Wall was a screen wall facing the gate of Prince Xiang’s Palace during the Ming Dynasty. Built in the middle of the 15th century, the Green Screen Wall is 25.1 meters long, 7.1 meters high, and 1.72 meters thick. The surface of the wall is carved from copperas stones and bordered by alum stones. Carved with 99 Chinese dragons, the Green Screen Wall is a large and rare treasure of carving art in China.
