Train with longest route in China begins operation

    (People's Daily Online)    13:46, July 05, 2017

The train with the longest route in China began operation on Saturday, July 1.

Train No. K1662 departed from Kashi, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and arrived in the city of Yingtan in eastern China's Jiangxi province. The train runs 5,166 kilometers across six provinces, including Xinjiang, Gansu, Shaanxi, Henan, Hubei, and Jiangxi; and stops at 53 stations.

“Kashi is a major hub for migrant workers in southern Xinjiang, so the train offers them great convenience,” Cao Yuan, a staff member at Kashi Station, explained. "Travelers aboard the train are also able to enjoy the beautiful natural scenery from northwest to southeast China.”
