    ‘No. 1 Tree in Six Central-South Chinese Provinces’ Comes Back to Life

    On June 5, Xiangyang Nanzhang Forest Disease and Pest Control Station and Limiao Forestry Station took significant protective measures, including pest control, walling and drainage ditch construction, to protect and revitalize a 1,000-year-old gingko tree in Limiao Town.

    Located in Maoping Village, Limiao Town, this tree has a height of 21 meters, crown diameter of 28 meters, tree diameter of 3.6 meters and chest circumstance of 12.3 meters, with an age of over 1,700 years. Being the largest ancient gingko tree ever discovered in six central-south Chinese provinces, it is known as “No. 1 Tree in Six Central-South Chinese Provinces”.
