    Cheng'en Temple restores tourist reception

After one year of repair, Cheng'en Temple in Gucheng County, Xiangyang has "restored the old as the old" to receive tourists. The repair project cost 12 million yuan.

The temple was built in the Sui Dynasty, prospered in the Tang Dynasty and culminated in the Ming Dynasty. With a history of more than 1,400 years, it is one of the country's oldest temples in existence, as well as a national key relic protection site.

In 2016, the People's Government of Gucheng County, in association with institutions such as the Ministry of Public Security, the National Development and Reform Commission and the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, invested more than 12 million yuan to repair the temple under the principle of "restoring the old as the old".
