Fish with 'wings' and 'legs' captured in Fujian

By Sun Wenyu (People's Daily Online)    13:34, November 24, 2016

A fish with a pair of "wings" and six "legs" was recently captured by a citizen in Nanping, Fujian province. The fish is about 15 centimeters in length. Its brown "wings" in the middle of its body are semi-transparent, with a wingspan longer than its body. In addition, its six "legs," which resemble those of shrimp and crabs, are situated below its head. Experts say the fish is a rare bluefin gurnard, and it normally lives near the bottom of the ocean. Its so-called wings and legs are actually pectoral fins.
