On October 25, the 12th China Annual Tea Economy Conference was held. Gucheng County, Xiangyang was named one of "2016 Most Beautiful Chinese Tea Counties".

In recent years, Gucheng has developed 144,000 mu of tea plantations, all of which have passed the pollution-free origin certification. 103,000 mu of tea plantations won the Green Food Certificate and nearly 300,000 mu won the Organic Tea Certificate. To date, Gucheng has won titles such as "National Model County for Leisure Agriculture", "Chinese Hometown of Tea", "National Characteristic Tea Producing County", "National Key Tea Producing County" and "China's Top 10 Ecological Tea Producing Counties".
