The Legend of Cat Demon, a film directed by Chen Kaige, is being filmed in Tangcheng Exterior Base of Film and Television, Xiangyang. Stills from the film were released recently.

The film has drawn its materials from Samana Kukai, a fantasy novel written by Japanese writer Yoneyama Mineo. In the story, a talking cat breaks the peace of Chang’an City. Poet Bai Letian and Monk Kukai make a joint investigation, unveiling a buried fact.
