    Chinese president pledges constructive role in Myanmar's peace process

    BEIJING, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday pledged that China will continue to play a constructive role in promoting Myanmar's peace process and work with the country to safeguard peace and stability in their border areas.

    Xi made the remarks during a meeting with Myanmar's State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi, who started a five-day official visit to China on Wednesday. Enditem
