9,000 Chinese Millionaires Emigrated in 2015, Making China Second in Rank of Rich Flee

    ()    23:05, April 04, 2016

Around 9,000 Chinese millionaires emigrated from China in 2015, and that was 1 percent of the total 654,000 millionaires of the county, according to a report by New World Wealth.

The report says that China ranks second in this emigration wave, while France comes top with around 10,000 millionaires leaving the country. Paris saw the biggest exodus of high net worth individuals, with 7,000 millionaires leaving the city in 2015- roughly 6 percent of a total 126,000 of the city. Italy comes third with 6,000 emigrating millionaires in 2015.

However, the millionaire emigration wave in China is much less perceptible in the list, as China is generating more millionaires than it has lost, said the report. Additionally, the report has pointed out that with the elevating of living conditions in China, many of the rich individuals are expected to come back to their motherland China in the future.

Australia has become the most attractive destination country for the emigrating millionaires, with Sydney receiving 4,000 of them in 2015, and Melbourne 3,000, according to the report.
