Horrific: Once Proud Animals Including Lions and Tigers Starved to Death in Gaza in War

These horrifying pictures show mummified corpses of animals that starved to death in the Khan Younis zoo in the impoverished Gaza Strip.

The animals were left without food due to the Palestinian and Israeli conflict, as staff were unable to feed or care for them properly.

“The zoo at Khan Yunis is one of the worst zoos in the world,” said Dr. Amir Khalil, director of project management at Four Paws, an international animal welfare organisation which has been aiding over 100 animals at three Gaza zoos.

Many animals including tiger, monkey and lioness died at zoos in Gaza since the start of the Israeli-Palestinian conflicts.
