The Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) has been signed by ministers from its 12 member nations in New Zealand on Feb. 4, 2016, according to China's Ministry of Commerce.
An official in charge of international affairs at the ministry said that China has noted the signing of the TPP in Auckland.
The official said that the TPP covers a large range of fields and China is evaluating the trade deal.
Gao Hucheng, China's commerce minister, mentioned China's attitude towards the organization in an interview with state media on Oct. 8, 2015, which was posted on the ministry's website.
"China hopes that the TPP and other free trade arrangements in the region will boost each other and contribute to trade, investment and economic growth in the Asia-Pacific region," Gao said in the interview.
