More than 10 provinces plan to set up Free Trade Zones (FTZ), according to provincial government work reports.

The 12 regions including Hubei, Henan, Shaanxi, Xinjiang, Gansu, Chongqing, Yunnan, Guangxi, Jiangxi, Shandong, Zhejiang and Jiangsu put forward their plans to establish FTZs. A total of eight provinces came up with FTZ proposals in 2015.

Among those provinces, east China's Jiangxi province put forward the proposal of establishing a FTZ for the first time in 2016.

Most of the provinces presenting their proposals for FTZ are in central and west China.

Places that have already established FTZs include Shanghai, Fujian, Guangdong and Tianjin are working out detailed plans to further improve their FTZs.
