Shi Songbo, a man in Henan, central China, has spent 300,000 yuan (47,197 USD) in building a manned airship within four months.

The airship is about 10 meters tall and 23 meters long. Two people can sit in the pilot’s cockpit. The airship can fly as high as 500 meters at a speed of 50 km per hour.

The man successfully flew the airship in his hometown on Oct. 25.

The airship is easy to operate and highly safe. It can be used in pesticide control and air travel.

Shi said when he was in primary school, he read some airline magazines his brother had bought. Since then, he has been interested in airplanes and has always dreamed one day he could fly through the clouds.

Gradually he accumulates a great deal of knowledge about airplane model. Later he joined an airplane model company to do airplane model design. As he gets more knowledge about airplane, he learns more about what materials and equipment are needed for making an airplane.

He quit his job this June and began to build the airship. After four-month efforts, he finally created the airship.
