Zhou Zhidong, 45, a policeman in Huangbu police station of Huidong county, south China's Guangdong province, suddenly died of cardiac arrest after working 24 hours continuously.

Zhou and three other policemen had dealt with over 10 cases and caught 5 suspects from 8:30 a.m. of July 31 to 5 a.m. of the next day. He went back to the dormitory and had a rest at 8:30 a.m. of August 1. His colleagues did not have the heart to disturb him at lunch time. As no one saw him at the supper time, some colleagues went to the dormitory and found him in a coma and sent him to the hospital.
