Nine people died and two others were injured after three trucks collided on the Xinfu Section of Wubao Highway in north China's Shanxi Province Wednesday night, Xinhua News Agency reports.

Eight road construction workers and one person in one of the trucks died at the scene, and two others were injured, says the report.

Local authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.
