A grade seven girl in Chongqing has accompanied her mother cleaning streets for nearly four years.

"If I do more, my mother will be less tired," said the 13 years old girl - Shi Rui, whose mother Wang Xiaofen is a sanitation worker.

In order to wake up in the early morning, Shi Rui set an alarm clock at 1 a.m. and starts to work with her mother at 3 a.m.

Girls at age of 13 are attentive to their personal appearance. Shi Rui confessed that she once want to give up helping her mother cleaning streets. "I was jeered by schoolmates but later I realized I do not need to care about what others think about me. I just want to lend a hand to my mother."

According to Shi, her father is in poor health and her mother has to cook for the family after cleaning the streets. She wants to shoulder her mother’s burden by helping her doing sanitation work.

Shi Rui said that her biggest hope is to grow up quickly and earn money to buy a bigger home for her parents.
