BEIJING, June 24 -- China has included security of its activities and assets in outer space, on the international sea bed and in polar regions in a draft national security law, the latest move to improve the legal framework protecting national interests.

The draft law - tabled for a third reading on Wednesday by China's top legislature, the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee - said China would peacefully explore and exploit outer space, international sea bed areas and polar regions.

The country will build entry and exit security, scientific expeditionary and development and utilization capacities, enhance international cooperation, and safeguard its activity and asset security on those "new strategic frontiers", the draft read.
