    Email|Print

China Railway Corporation has made the decision to extend Railway Freight Services and promote the development of modern railway logistics. It has also vowed to develop into a first class world-leading modern logistics company within three years.

In order to achieve these goals, an online business platform was launched in April to embrace the era of e-commerce. It is essential to have such an online platform that bridges railway services and customers, said Sheng Guangzu, general manager of the China Railway Corporation, in an interview with People’s Daily.

At the moment there are two websites that facilitate communication between China Railway and its clients: www.12306.cn and www. 95306.cn. The first one is mainly for passenger transportation and the second one is for freight services.

Three major services are available on 95306.cn. First is goods delivery and goods tracking. Second is trading of bulk commodities including coal, minerals, steel, grain, chemicals, cement, mine construction, coke, fertilizers, timber, drinks and food. Third is trading of small commodities including online purchase, online payment, logistics, Internet marketing and customer service.
