BEIJING, May 4 -- The anti-graft agency of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Monday named and shamed officials for disciplinary violations during the May Day holidays.

In a weekly report, the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) named officials involved in 134 cases of illegal subsidies, lavish spending at weddings and funerals, use of public funds for banquets, running private errands with official cars, among others.

The CCDI had an "I report" section on its website for the public to report graft and inappropriate behavior in the lead up to the May Day holiday from May 1 to May 3.

Since April 2014, it has become a regular practice for the CCDI to reveal cases of corruption every week for four to five weeks in the lead up to national holidays, as holidays usually see a rise of gift-giving, banquets and ceremonies, among other violations.
