In April 2015, Chinese President Xi Jinping joins Asian and African leaders in Indonesia to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Bandung Conference.

A meeting held 60 years ago is still dearly remembered today. It was the first outcry of people of Asia and Africa who wanted to hold their destiny in their own hands and who for the first time shared a heartbeat.

In those 60 years, the spirit of independence, solidarity and development has been guiding us as we march on shoulder to shoulder, as Asia-African cooperation grows quickly, as the international order changes for the better and as hundreds of millions of our people improve their livelihood.

In those 60 years, China stands together with friends in Asia and Africa. China has called for the Bandung Spirit and has worked to fulfill it as she builds peace and attains development.

60 years on, we are not yet rich or strong enough. We are different among ourselves and together we face the challenges ahead. However, we have learned to see things in common. We believe if you want to go fast, go alone and if you want to go far, go together and we know that together we are strong.

In April 2015, history awaits a new miracle of Asia and Africa at the Bandung Conference.
