Wang Yajun, a security guard at China's Central Academy of Drama, or Central Drama, has recently published a book classifying people according to their appearances. Wang, however, alleged that he was forced to quit his job earlier this month, saying that it may have something to do with his new book.

In the book, Wang attaches many claims about beauty and looks that promote stereotypes. For instance, the former security guard alleges that a person with "good" looks can often acquire more social resources.

Wang added that he will soon create an appendix categorizing the looks and corresponding behavior of the students attending Central Drama, one of China's top art institutions, from where many of the country's renowned actors and actresses graduated.

Critics in China say that Wang's book puts too much emphasis on people's looks and could have a harmful impact on teenagers.

Wang defends his work from criticism, saying that, in modern China, it's become normal to judge people based on appearance. He wants to fill the "academic gap" by doing research on this social phenomenon.

Central Drama has not responded to Wang's resignation from being a security job at the facility. The security firm, Wang's employer, neither gives any further explanation, citing a confidentiality agreement between the company and its staff.
