BEIJING, April 1 -- Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday called to fully implement the strategic layout of the "Four Comprehensives" in the country's drive for deepening reforms.

Xi made the remarks at the 11th meeting of the central leading group for deepening overall reform, during which he called on authorities to show "courage and guts" and grasp the vital importance of comprehensively deepening reforms at the current stage.

They must also improve their capabilities in "leading, planning, promoting and implementing reforms," Xi said, adding that "our reforms must echo the appeal of the people."
