Four Chinese nationals have been injured in a powerful tropical cyclone that tore through Vanuatu.

The Chinese Embassy says the four suffered slight injuries and were treated timely.

Meanwhile, China has pledged continuous disaster relief assistance to Vanuatu, with the Red Cross Society of China providing 100 thousand U.S. dollars to the South Pacific country.

Vanuatu declared a state of emergency on Sunday after Cyclone Pam ripped through the island nation on Saturday.

The death toll has risen to 24, with more than 3,300 people made homeless.
