    Chinese discipline official indicted on bribery charges

    HOHHOT, March 13 (Xinhua) -- The case against a former senior discipline official in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region got underway on Friday.

    Shen Jia, former senior official of the Communist Party of China discipline inspection commission of Inner Mongolia, was charged with taking bribes totalling 28 million yuan (4.55 million U.S. dollars) and 10,000 dollars, to seek illegal benefits for others, said the indictment,filed by the Bayannur people's procuratorate at Bayannur People's Court on Friday.

    Shen, born in 1959, was expelled from the CPC and dismissed from his posts in December.
