    Ban Ki-moon greeting China on Lunar New Year

    UN Secretary General Ban Ki moon has sent a personalized new year greeting to Chinese people, signing off his name in Chinese, AND in Chinese calligraphy style.

    "Peaceful family brings prosperity", this is what the words mean and is a traditional motto. This display of calligraphy skills is not the UN secretary's first. He also waved his brush to welcome the year of the dragon back in 2012.

    In a following televised speech, Ban wished a happy new year in a combination of Chinese and English. He also urged China and Chinese people to contribute to world peace in the spirit of the Sheep, which he said represents the gentle and compassionate.
