BEIJING, Feb 13 (People's Daily Online) – China's Spring Festival is just around the corner. Australian Ambassador to China H.E. Ms. Frances Adamson extends Spring Festival greetings and wishes as follows.

讀者朋友們，大家好。

At New Year we often pause to look back on the past year and ponder the coming 12 months.

我們常在辭舊迎新之際，回顧過去并展望未來的一年。

The Year of the Horse has been a time when the friendship and ties between Australia and China have reached even stronger, deeper levels.

在剛剛過去的馬年，澳大利亞與中國之間的友好關系得到了更加強勁和深入地發展。

Our nations have many bonds of friendship.

我們兩國之間的友誼是多元化的。

Each year over three quarters of a million Chinese citizens visit Australia to study, travel or do business: foreign students calling Australia their temporary home and enjoying and experiencing our culture and lifestyle, tourists are warmly welcomed to Australian shores; and business people travelling to Australia to forge and grow trade and business ties.

每年有超過七十五萬的中國公民前往澳大利亞學習，旅游或者經商：留學生們把澳大利亞視為第二故鄉，享受并體驗澳大利亞的文化和生活方式，游客們在澳大利亞海濱受到熱烈歡迎，商務人士則為我們兩國間的貿易發展和商務關系增磚添瓦。

Coming this way to China, last year just under 400,000 Australians visited China – that’s almost 2% of our nation’s total population! And last year Universities Australia ranked China as the second most popular destination for Australian students studying overseas.

對中國來說，過去一年赴華訪問的澳大利亞公民數量接近四十萬，這幾乎是澳大利亞全國人口的百分之二。澳大利亞高等教育協會（Universities Australia）在去年將中國列為第二大最受澳大利亞學生歡迎的留學目的國。

The strength of our ties of friendship are reflected in our trade and political relations. In this last year, President Xi in his state visit to Australia included travelling far south to our smallest state, Tasmania. This visit made President Xi one of the only world leaders to have visited every Australian state and territory.

我們兩國間強有力的友好關系也反映在貿易和政治方面。中國國家主席習近平閣下去年對澳大利亞進行國事訪問期間，前往澳大利亞南部，訪問了面積最小的塔斯馬尼亞州。此行使他成為了唯一一位到訪過澳大利亞所有州及地區的外國領導人。

Australia’s Prime Minister Tony Abbott last year twice visited China. During his April visit to China he was accompanied by 700 Australian business leaders, six state Premiers, two Chief Ministers and the Foreign and Trade Ministers.

澳大利亞總理阿博特去年兩度訪問了中國。他四月份到訪中國的團隊中包括了七百位澳大利亞商界領袖，六位州長，兩位地區首席部長，以及外交部長和貿易部長。

Perhaps the greatest highlight of this past year was the substantial conclusion of China-Australia Free Trade Agreement negotiations. When the agreement comes into force it will bring great benefit to both countries. Chinese consumers will enjoy cheaper Australian beef, lamb and seafood; greater investment opportunities; and even more Chinese students and tourists will have the chance to experience Australia.

對于我們兩國來說，過去一年里的最大亮點也許要算是中澳自由貿易協定談判的結束。這項協定付諸實施后，它將為兩國帶來巨大的利益。中國消費者們可以以更優惠價格享用到澳大利亞的牛肉，羊肉和海鮮食品，投資者們可以有更廣泛的投資機會，更多的中國學生和游客將有機會體驗澳大利亞。

Looking ahead, this year the Australian government’s New Colombo Plan, supporting Australian students studying and undertaking internships with in the region, is being extended to China. These future leaders will not only gain incredible personal experience but will return to Australia with new perspective, new ideas and new understanding.

展望未來，澳大利亞政府實施的旨在支持澳大利亞學生前往亞洲地區學習和實習的“新科倫坡計劃”將在今年擴展到中國。這些未來的領導者們不僅可以通過這一計劃極大地豐富他們的個人經歷，也將把新的視野，觀點及認識帶回澳大利亞。

On his state visit to Australia last year, President Xi addressed the Australian Parliament saying it is the steady streams of mutual understanding and friendship between our two peoples that have created a vast ocean of goodwill between China and Australia.

習近平主席去年訪問澳大利亞期間在澳大利亞國會發表演講時指出，正是兩國人民源源不斷的相互理解和友誼，匯聚成了中澳友好關系之海。

In 2015 and the Year of the Sheep, I believe our two nations and people can only continue to deepen our sea of friendship.

我堅信，在2015年羊年里我們兩國及人民之間的友誼之海會不斷加深！
