DALIAN, Jan. 17 -- Xiao Shengfeng, acting mayor of Dalian City, northeast China's Liaoning Province, on Saturday was elected mayor of the city at the third session of the 15th Dalian municipal people's congress, the local legislature.

Xiao, former head of the city's political advisory body, was appointed the acting mayor on Dec. 29. Li Wancai resigned as the Dalian mayor the same day.
