BEIJING, Jan. 3  -- Eleven workers were trapped in a rooftop and scaffold collapse accident in central China's Hunan Province on Friday, according to local authorities.

The collapse occurred at around 5:10 p.m. Friday when workers were finishing construction work at a machine repair workshop of a local nonferrous metal company based in Chenzhou city of the Province.

Five workers were rescued and rushed to hospital immediately.

Rescue work is still under way.

The cause of the accident is still being investigated.
