BEIJING, Dec. 2 -- Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and his Cape Verde counterpart Tolentino held talks on bilateral ties in Beijing Tuesday.

Wang said it was important to China to cooperate with developing countries, as it believed in the principle that all countries, big or small, were equal.

Wang spoke highly of Cape Verde as its outlook on developing bilateral relationships was of a long-term and strategic view.

Wang and Tolentino agreed that both sides should deepen political mutual trust, safeguard the common interests of developing countries and strengthen international and regional affairs coordination.

The two countries, Wang continued, should promote mutual beneficial cooperation in agriculture, marine economy, health service, education and human resources development.

Tolentino said Cape Verde was no longer defined as one of the Least Developed Countries (LDC) and had taken the leap to a middle-income country

In addition, Tolentino said, Cape Verde agreed with the "one-China" policy.
