BYD's supporting project for high-end mobile phones settled in Xi'an High-tech Zone on Oct. 9. The project is another important project in Shaanxi Province following the ZTE intelligent terminal production projects.

BYD is not only China's leading manufacturer of new energy vehicles, but also a mobile phone ODM manufacturer. It has provided a full range of services to Samsung, Huawei, Nokia and other top international telecom companies. BYD plans to invest 10 billion yuan in the supporting project for high-end mobile phones, which will be put into operation in early 2015. After completion, it can produce 60 million sets of metal mobile phone shell a year. The total output value will reach 7 billion yuan. The project is also expected to bring more than 30,000 jobs opportunities.
