GUANGZHOU, July 21 -- A man wielding a cleaver killed a baby and injured two children on Monday morning in south China's Guangdong Province, local authorities said.

A 23-year-old suspect surnamed Chen is thought to have committed the crime at about 7:30 a.m. in a rental house in the city of Zhongshan, the government said.

A one-year-old boy was killed. The injured are a boy, six, and a girl, 10.

Chen, a migrant worker, has been arrested. His motive is unclear.
