SYDNEY,June 10 (People’s Daily Online) -- A $25 million state-of-the-art creative hub featuring dance, theatre, music, film and visual arts facilities will be built in the heart of Sydney following an agreement reached by the City of Sydney and property developer Greenland Australia.

At the joint media conference held by Greenland Australia and City of Sydney, Mayor Clover Moore said the landmark project would bring significant economic, cultural and community benefits to Sydney.

“Sydney remains the leading global city of Australia and this project, along with the recently approved light rail project, are great examples of the major infrastructure projects being pursued by the City in partnership with the business sector and other levels of government,” the Mayor said.

Sherwood Luo, managing director of Greenland Australia, said: “Greenland has been developing properties in over 100 cities around the world and has always been delighted to work with state and local governments to meet the city and community needs.”

As introduced, the hub will span 2,000 square m over five storeys, and will be located in what is set to be Sydney’s tallest residential tower at the former Sydney Water site on Bathurst Street.
