Among College students who graduated in 2013, those majoring in architecture were the happiest. They ranked first in both job satisfaction and employment rate, a survey shows.

It also found that with the improvement in public awareness of environmental protection, specialties such as urban planning and water supply and drainage engineering also offered the best job satisfaction and employment prospects.

This is according to the 2014 Chinese College Graduates' Employment Annual Report, released on Monday by MyCOS, an education consulting and research institute in Beijing.

The report released rankings for employability, employment satisfaction, and monthly income. It also classified the red majors (least promising), yellow majors (need careful consideration), and green majors (most promising).

The employment rate for college grads (91.4 percent) in 2013 has seen a slight increase compared to the previous year (90.9 percent), and their monthly incomes are trending upwards six months after graduation, but the growth rate is still lower than that of city residents as a whole.

    Yellow majors in 2014

    Green majors in 2014

Green majors: students’ monthly income and the employment rate continued to rise, with low unemployment rate and high job satisfaction and increasing employment demand.
