Afghanistan is poised for two milestones: the complete withdrawal of U.S. troops and a run-off to decide who will be its next president.

One of the most important discussions on the agenda at the fourth CICA summit is about how the nation’s ongoing post war reconstruction will proceed under a new president and in the absence of U.S. troops. What does the post-Karzai Afghanistan mean for central Asia? How does the outgoing president look at bilateral ties with China?

Afghan President Hamid Karzai gave an exclusive interview about these issues and Afghanistan’s ties with China to CCTV-News anchor Yang Rui in Shanghai, the host city of CICA.
