E-commerce is set to change the existing trade patterns between China and Russia. AliExpress, a global online shopping platform by China's Alibaba Group, is the biggest online shopping platform in Russia, generating over half a million orders per day, but it wants to do more than just sell "Made in China" products to the region.
Shen Difan, the general manager of AliExpress said the AliExpress team shifted their focus in Russia to “localization”, such as providing localized customer services.
China has been Russia’s top trading partner for 6 years consecutively, and Russia is a major crude oil and heavy hi-tech equipment exporter to China.
